Choosing Software for Signmaking
Software
We are often asked “which is the best software?”
The short answer is “the one you already know best”
It is probably impossible to prove that any software package is overall better than all others.
Most Sign Making software packages have more facilities and more capability than most of the people who use them are ever likely to need or be capable of using to full advantage.
Some packages have more intuitive interfaces than others and may be easier to learn.
Some may have more facilities than others for certain tasks.
Some are more expensive than others.

LEARNING TIME CAN BE COSTLY
When choosing software you should consider a package with which you or your staff are familiar because it is likely to make you most productive in the least “learning time”.

If you have limited experience of software you should consider “ease of learning” and availability of help, support and training.
CONSIDER THE FUTURE
When your business expands it is not too difficult to install new hardware but changing software can be a time consuming nightmare.
Choose software that will do what you need to do now and also in the future.
SUPPORT
Most of our customers to whom we supplied software chose to use SignLab because when they needed support they did not need to suffer the frustration of trying to play email ping pong with an automated "system" based in a far distant country.
They chose it because they could call and speak - yes! actually speak! - not to automated voice machines, but to living breathing people based in UK who speak English.
Until 2024 SignLab was owned Cadlink Ltd
It is now owned by Fiery.
It will be interesting to see whether the quality of support remains as it has been to date.
SOFTWARE PRICES
It would be difficult, and probably confusing, to publish prices here because prices vary with customers individual needs and circumstances and also because there are numerous software variants further complicated by discounts for upgrades, additional licences, crossgrades, and occasional promotions.
